This dry throat can’t make words,
describing the chances I’ve
missed that
cling to decisions made now, then
reflect
in my eyes
where I meet myself in
midnight-mirrors.
Your flowers still sit on my floor
by my couch. I smell them through naps and
sweep the dead
petals, cautiously
throwing away what
once was
life.

I especially liked the smelling through naps and cautious sweeping. Very good BFG.

So sadly beautiful, laced with the scent of dead flowers…
